CROSSING WAVES

When the EPP church in Marseille was founded in 2006 we wanted to make this project more than a local assembly. Our dream was to launch a church planting movement that would become a wave in France, Europe and beyond.

In our hearts this movement did not take the form of a denomination, because this framework too often seemed restrictive, preventing the local church from developing freely with real autonomy. On the other hand, we did not envision a network solely built on relationships without reciprocal commitments. The Crossing Waves network defines itself as a cooperative of churches.

We want to live authentic and simple relationships with a personal commitment. This means that the commitment to living the relationships in this network is the central priority for us. Every leader is committed to living a face-to-face relationship with a trusted person in the network. This relationship is a continuous relationship in a regular rhythm. Through these relationships we express our belonging to the network. In addition to “one-to-one” relationships, we are committed to living relationships in “learning communities” (development groups). Once a year we all get together for a time of networking

If relationships are the foundation of our network, reproduction (multiplication) is both our mission and our goal. Our goal is to become a network that multiplies to become a movement of multiplication.

Multiplication is found at all levels:

Individual multiplication by learning (discipleship)
The multiplication of groups (small groups, house groups, house churches)
The multiplication of movements

The network is a platform of resources. We make resources available to everyone so that each work can benefit from the strengths of the others.

VISIONNARY LEADER OF CROSSING WAVE

Björn is married to Brita. They are parents of five adult children and grandparents to fourteen grandchildren. Since 1992, they have served as German missionaries in Marseille, France.

Björn is the founder of the “Crossing Waves Network,” where he supports churches both within and beyond the network in their development. He also serves as the General Secretary of BFP-Global, which connects more than 1,600 churches worldwide as part of the BFP, Germany’s largest Pentecostal movement.

Additionally, Björn is the World Zone Leader for DCPI Europe–Mediterranean (Dynamic Church Planting International). He leads more than 500 certified DCPI trainers across Europe, Israel, North Africa, and the Middle East, who equip church planters and their teams in over 48 nations.
